Thank you to everyone who made Part 1 of the First Nations Broomball Festival a success!
Part 1 of the First Nations Broomball Festival, which took place on November 1-3, 2024 in Val D'Or, brought together an impressive representation of athletes from the Cree and Algonquin Nations, with 45 teams and over 600 athletes competing in 94 games across four rinks.

The Festival was filled with high-energy competition and skill-building opportunities, including a bilingual Broomball Coach Certification Course ("Broomball for Fun") from Broomball Canada and the Fédération Québécoise de Ballon sur Glace (FQBG). Qualifying players also had an opportunity to try out for the Cree U20 Female and Male National Teams. It was truly an action-packed weekend for all!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who made this event possible: community representatives, coaches, officials, and the many people who supported the Festival in different capacities - from Security to Admissions and beyond! Finally, a heartfelt thank you goes out to our sponsors for their generous support. Thank you for making this event possible for young Indigenous athletes!
